UPDATE as of June, 2009: Thanks to the tremendous support from Mayor Daley, his Department of Planning and Development, and his Chicago Park District, along with Aldermen Danny Solis (25th), Bob Fioretti (2nd), Walter Burnett (27th), and Ed Smith (28th), Livingston Field was dedicated as a City park on Opening Day. NWLL had pleaded its case to the IMDC at quarterly meetings for the last four years and even filed a lawsuit against them for lack of open meetings and disclosure. The City had to sacrifice other public land in exchange for the Park. Recent IMDC leadership neglected the City's local partnership and posted signs on two fences (shown below) for the last two years stating their intention to unneccesarily build on the site and destroy our field of dreams, which has been a great community asset and green space for 15 years. Good government matters, and the IMDC must be accountable to community oversight! On May 20, 2009 the City Council approved the acquistion of Livingston Field as Livingston Park from IMD, though sadly at the expense of trading other land. On July 19, 2007, the City Council (sponsors Ald. Burnett, Ald. Fioretti, and Ald. Solis) and Mayor Daley unanimously passed a resolution urging the IMDC to keep Livingston Park a baseball field, and we deeply thank them for their official support! Without their long-term devotion, the Park and NWLL would have been bulldozed and pushed aside by the IMDC. NWLL strongly condemned IMDC's self-serving position.

2010 Division Schedules
updated as of 5/29/10

The 2010 season runs from May 22 (Opening Day) to the beginning of August with games on July 3rd. However, girls softball goes from April 24 until June 26 plus All-Star/Traveling Team games (older division) in July. (Note: The younger division of girls softball may continue in July at Harrison Park.) T-Ball will go from May 29 until August 28.

ROSTER SHEETS: Rosters are due by June 7. Coaches should be prepared with a list of all players along with all payments received. Here is the Roster Form (in pdf format).

EQUIPMENT and UNIFORMS: If you have any equipment needs, please contact Mike Julian, who has access to our storage garage. Mike also manages all our uniforms, including jerseys, pants, and caps. Players are asked to return jerseys and pants after the season.

Here are the 2010 schedules for our six divisions:

  • 5-8 Girls & Boys T-Ball meets every Saturday at Livingston Field from 9am to 11am from May 29 until August 28 including July 3rd. On August 28, we will celebrate our season with our last games followed by a family picnic and distribution of the team picture at 10:30. T-Ball consists of 40 all-star players with assorted major league team uniforms. Four all-star teams are formed each week for two games based on attendance, skill level, and having new teammates!
  • 8-10 Boys Baseball (play Mon. at 6pm and Sat. at 1pm at Livingston only)
  • 8-11 Girls Softball every Saturday at Sheridan Park from 10am to 12noon from April 24 until June 26. Note: Games start promptly at 10:30. Weekday practice on Thursdays from 6 to 7 (subject to change). The playoffs and awards ceremony is pending for June 26. In addition, post-season play may be available at Harrison Park in July.
  • 10-12 Boys Baseball (play Wed. at 6pm and Sat. at 11am)
  • 11-14 Girls Softball (play Tues. at 6pm and Sat. at 11am or 1pm)
  • 13-15 Boys Baseball (play Tues. or Thurs. at 6pm or 8pm and Sat. at 1pm, 3pm or 5pm)
